Plant based stem cell exosomes
Plant-based stem cell exosomes (Plant Derived Extracellular Nanoparticles PDENs) are at the cutting edge of research within the field of regenerative medicine and aesthetics. Derived from plants, these cruelty-free products consist of tiny packets made by plant cells that carry important molecules like proteins, growth factors, peptides, liposomes, and amino acids. They play a role in cell communication and can stimulate various biological processes, such as the body's own collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. Results include improved skin texture, reduce wrinkles and increased skin hydration.
Plant-based stem cell exosomes are applied with microneedling.

Frequently asked questions
Plant Based Stem Cell Exosomes (Plant Derived Extracellular Nanoparticles PDENs) are at the forefront of research in facial aesthetics. Byova uses EXO|E products, of which each treatment protocol contains 30 billion extracellular vesicles packed with PDENs.
Harnessing the Power of Plants:
Plant Stem Cells: Unlike traditional stem cells derived from human embryos or animals, plant stem cells are extracted from specific plants with exceptional regenerative properties.
Exosomes: These plant stem cells secrete tiny spheres called exosomes, which act like messenger molecules. They contain valuable proteins, growth factors, peptides, liposodes, amino acids and other cellular materials that play a crucial role in cell communication and regeneration. These exosomes send signals to the body's own cells to ramp up production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
Benefits for Facial Aesthetics:
Enhanced Collagen Production: Exosomes are designed to stimulate the production of collagen, the protein that provides structure and elasticity to your skin. Increased collagen levels lead to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
Reduced Inflammation: Inflammation in the skin can contribute to visible signs of ageing. EXO|E can reduce daily inflammation by 61%.
Improved Hydration: Exosomes promote hyaluronic acid production, a molecule that keeps your skin plump and hydrated. This can lead to a more dewy and glowing appearance.
Brighter Complexion: By stimulating cellular renewal and reducing pigmentation, exosomes can contribute to a brighter and more even skin tone.
Minimised Wrinkles: Increased collagen and elastin production and improved skin texture can lead to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Exploring the Possibilities:
If you're interested in exploring the potential of plant-based stem cell exosomes for facial rejuvenation, book a consultation with one of Byova's highly experienced clinicians. They can discuss the available options, answer your questions, and help you determine if this approach aligns with your goals and expectations.
PDENs with EXO|E involves a three-step protocol as follows:
Step 1: D|TOX
A day and night serum is applied for 7 days prior to the in-clinic treatment. This hydrates and prepares the skin for maximum absorption of the exosomes.
Step 2: EXO|E
Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed.
A microneedling pen will be used to create micro-channels in the skin for maximum absorption of the exosomes.
The EXO|E serum will be applied, which delivers the concentrated Plant Based Stem Cell Exosomes.
Step 3: RE|PAIR
A day and night serum is applied for 7 days after the in-clinic treatment. This contains additional exosome factors.
Step 4: Aftercare
Your Byova clinician will go through all the necessary aftercare with you and your follow-up appointments. Microneedling and exosome treatment is minimally invasive, and downtime is usually minimal. You might experience some temporary swelling, redness, or soreness at the injection sites, but these typically resolve within a few days.
Byova's Expertise: At Byova, our experienced professionals use advanced techniques and follow strict protocols to ensure optimal results and patient safety. We will discuss the entire process in detail during your consultation and answer any questions you may have. PDENs offer a promising and natural approach to rejuvenation and healing. Byova can help you determine if PDEN treatment is right for you and create a personalised treatment plan to achieve your desired outcome.
Microneedling will be performed in the in-clinic session. This is a relatively pain-free treatment and feels like a light vibrating sensation on the skin with very light pressure applied.
Numbing cream is not recommended as this will reduce to absorption of the EXO|E serum after treatment.
Try not to drink any alcohol within 24 hours prior to your in-clinic EXO|E appointment or caffeine on the day of your appointment.
Arrive to your appointment without make-up or we can remove it for you.
Do not have treatment 2-4 weeks before or after a laser treatment or chemical peel, as this can increase swelling and redness or hyperpigmentation.
Avoid sun exposure for 24 hours prior to treatment.
Your Byova clinician will go through the preparation required at your consultation. You will be given the Step 1: D|TOX serum to apply day and night for 7 days prior to your in-clinic appointment.
Do not use any retinoid products in the area to be treated for 5 days prior to your appointment.
Microneedling will be used in the in-clinic appointment. This typically involves minimal downtime, allowing you to get back to your daily routine quickly. Immediately after treatment, you will experience some minor swelling, redness, and tenderness. This is usually temporary and resolves within a few hours or days. Other reactions may include slight tightness and mild flaking.
To avoid the risk of any complications, please follow the below after care:
Your Byova clinician will go through the aftercare with you at your appointment. You will be given the RE|PAIR serum to use day and night for 7 days after the in-clinic treatment.
Most people will be able to return to normal activities.
Keep hydrated to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.
For the first 24 hours after being treated, do not apply makeup or have a spray tan and avoid unnecessarily touching your face as this will help to reduce the risk of infection. You can still wash your face as normal with clean hands.
Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours after being treated to reduce swelling and redness.
Avoid vigorous exercise, sunbathing, extreme temperature (hot and cold) such as saunas/steam baths to reduce prolonged swelling, redness and infection risk.
Do not have microneedling done 2-4 weeks before or after a laser treatment, IPL or chemical peel, as this can increase swelling and redness.
After treatment, wear sunscreen and avoid UV exposure.
Do not have facial massages, facial-electro stimulation, dermaroller/microneedling, semi-permanent makeup or microdermabrasion for up to 8 weeks before and after your treatment, and not until your treatment has completely healed. This is to reduce swelling and infection risk.
Leave 2 weeks after microneedling before having Dermal Filler or Anti-Wrinkle injections.
Do not use any retinoid products in the area to be treated for 5 days after your appointment.
Some tenderness during and after treatment is normal. You can use painkillers and cold compresses (a clean cloth dipped in cold water, wrung out, applied to the injected area) to help any discomfort. Arnica cream, fresh pineapples/bromelain tablets can reduce bruising and swelling.
If redness, tenderness, itching and swelling continues to worsen after a few days, contact us.
Escalating pain is not normal, and you must contact us for follow up.
PDENs will be applied during the in-clinic appointment after microneedling. Whilst microneedling is generally considered a safe and effective treatment, it's important to be aware of some potential risks involved. Here's a summary to ensure you make an informed decision:
Temporary Discomfort: The procedure itself can cause some minor discomfort. Topical anestheticis not recommended as it will reduce absorption of the EXO|E serum after treatment. You might also experience some redness, swelling, or pinpoint bleeding immediately after the treatment. These effects are usually temporary and resolve within a few hours or days.
Infection: As with any procedure that penetrates the skin, there's a slight risk of infection. Byova uses sterilised needles and adheres to strict hygiene protocols to minimise this risk.
Scarring: In rare cases, microneedling can lead to scarring, especially if performed incorrectly or on individuals prone to scarring. Choosing an experienced and qualified professional significantly reduces this risk.
Allergic Reaction: If you have allergies to certain topical serums or disinfectants used during the procedure, you might experience an allergic reaction. Discussing your medical history during your consultation is crucial to identify any potential risks.
Uneven Results: In inexperienced hands, microneedling can lead to uneven results, such as pigmentation changes or textural irregularities. Byova's team comprises of highly trained professionals who use precise techniques to ensure optimal and even outcomes.
